FRANCIS XAVIER PLUNKETT M.D.
On Monday October 26, from a cardiac arrhythmia. The oldest of ten children Francis Xavier attended Georgetown Preparatory School, Yale University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Predeceased by his father John F. Plunkett (2007) and brother William K. Plunkett (2004) F.X. is survived by his mother Inez Plunkett; siblings Kathryn & Jeff Reed of Pittsburgh, Anne and Ben Holland of Poulsbo, WA., Laura Hansen of Aspinwall, John & Holly Plunkett of Morgantown, WV., Marion & Josh Whetzel of Ligonier, Ann (Conner) Plunkett of Fox Chapel, Pat & Gary Staub of Dallas TX, Carol & Jack Smith of Charleston, WV., Tom & Sarah Plunkett of Calgary Canada; 11 nieces, 9 nephews, 4 great nieces, 1 great nephew. Loving neighbors, bridge friends, Ligonier friends, Ireland friends, Florida friends and many others. An avid bridge player and reader F.X. was a wonderful travel companion, who enjoyed all of life’s adventures, and many outdoor activities including fox hunting, sailing, gardening, tennis and his many pets and animals throughout the years. F.X. will be long remembered for his generosity, kindness, wisdom, patience, and unconditional love. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm.
