Welcome Yale ’71 Classmates!

Dear Yale College Class of 1971 members, families, and friends,Three Easy Steps

As you know, Yale ’71ers were trailblazers in many respects. Our class includes the first women to graduate from Yale College. We were the first to take meals in Commons without mandatory coats and ties. We were among the first classes composed under modernized inclusive admissions guidelines.

True to form, Yale ’71 has been redefining the online community experience for Yale classes. And you can benefit by taking two easy steps. As a Class member, you’re invited to register to join our community — as more than one in three of our Classmates already have.  You’ll gain access to private Class-only areas (Photo Galleries, In Memoriam, Online Classbook, online discussions, and the Class Survey).

Then take a few minutes to complete or update your Online Classbook profile. This has several advantages over hard-copy classbooks:  (1) it’s free to use for registered Class members, (2) it’s always available wherever you find a computer, (3) you can update it as new life events occur, and (4) it has its own internal messaging system, so you can reach your classmates easily. If you don’t yet have a profile, please read “Contributing Your Classbook Profile” under the Frequently Asked Questions.

Please include a current head photo with your bio.  It’s so nice see how well we’ve “matured” since Yale!

Though Yale71.org is designed and maintained by a core group of classmates, it’s a resource for all of us to develop. As more of us contribute to it, the richer it becomes. We invite you to explore the site, have fun reminiscing — then send along material you’d like to publish (press releases, family news, photos, essays…whatever).

Be sure to check out our monumental 45th anniversary “Who We Are” survey.

Best regards,

Andy Kaufman (Class Secretary), Bill Primps (Class Treasurer), and the website team: Tim Powell (Class VP of Technology), and Rick Cech (Photo Editor).
