Alan Yuspeh writes:
““Mark, Bob Brookhiser, and I were law partners at Howrey & Simon in the mid-1990s. I always thought it interesting that three members of our class found their way to the same law firm. Mark was a brilliant appellate lawyer. He had a perfect grasp of appellate strategy and was a gifted writer. He was widely recognized as a part of a small and elite group of lawyers who were truly specialists in handling Supreme Court cases.”

Mark was a freshman roommate of mine whose immediate aspirations were written on a slip of paper posted on his desk:
PBK, SCL, PhD – Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, PhD.
He only missed the last one, and that was by choice of degree.
I wish him rest and peace at the end of his toils.
