He’ll also head the new Yale Center for High-Throughput Cell Biology, an interdisciplinary institute being established at the West Campus, the former Bayer site acquired by the University last year. The current Medicine@Yale newsletter has a great article about Jim and his recent appointment as the Fergus F. Wallace Professor of Biomedical Sciences and chair of the School of Medicine’s Department of Cell Biology. The Center for High-Throughput Cell Biology that he will launch is the first of what is planned to be a number of new high-profile research initiatives for the West Campus. In the article, the dean of the Medical School characterizes Jim as “one of the most brilliant researchers of our time.”
